Bought for a client so they could have a pre-drawn out grid with the questions on it for mapping parts as described in Trauma Recovery book (which is terrific btw)...but it's just a blank notebook? False advertising
Hi Geneva, thank you for your feedback. I take it seriously and am so sorry that the Mapping Notebook didn't meet your expectations. In the product description I do say that the Mapping Notebook comes, 'complete with instructions for mapping more than one part at a time (including a visual diagram), and provides 50 blank pages for writing and/or drawing out parts maps!'
The reason why I constructed the Notebook in this way is that experience shows that the positive impact of mapping is enhanced by the client doing most of the work themselves. The more they draw and write everything on their own - with the least amount of scaffolding possible - the greater the impact. For this reason, I created the Mapping Notebook with only one page of instructions and one illustrated example of a map (on the front cover). These two pages of content should be enough for a client to follow along and make their own version of 'a map'. The more they do on their own, and the more it is their own, the greater the benefit.
Your honest feedback let's me know that I have not done an adequate job of explaining and highlighting the simple, intentional design behind this product. I will rectify this in the product description! Thanks again for bringing this to my attention. If you don't think the product, as is, will be useful to you, please let us know and we will refund you. Warmly, Rachel Walker, LMFT
